Job summary

QXO, Inc in Columbia, SC, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse, yard, inventory, shipping and receiving activities, ensuring a safe, efficient, organized, and customer‑focused operation.

This role provides leadership to warehouse and operational staff while coordinating with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, Shop and branch leadership to ensure materials are received, stored, picked, and delivered accurately with high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse, distribution, operations, building materials, or related environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse or operational environments.
• Experience managing inventory, shipping/receiving, material handling, and warehouse workflow.
• Proficiency with computers and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material flow.
• Oversee picking, staging, receiving, and movement of building materials.
• Coordinate inventory accuracy and conduct cycle counts and inventories.
• Support shipping, receiving, and timely customer deliveries.
• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, and branch leadership.
• Develop staff through coaching, onboarding, and cross-training.
• Establish priorities and allocate resources based on demand.
• Maintain safety, organization, and compliance across operations.
