Job summary

QXO in Columbia, SC is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse, yard, inventory, shipping and receiving operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service.

You will provide hands-on leadership to warehouse and operational staff, coordinate inventory flows with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, and shop leadership, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize accuracy, throughput, and service levels in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, operations, building materials, or a related environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse or operational environments.
• Experience managing inventory, shipping/receiving, material handling, and warehouse workflow.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material flow.
• Oversee picking, staging, stocking, receiving, loading, and movement of building materials.
• Coordinate shipping and receiving priorities to support customer and operational requirements.
• Support route and delivery coordination as operational needs require.
• Conduct regular team meetings and provide coaching to improve performance, safety, productivity, and service.
