Job summary

Quirch Foods in Florida is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee the distribution center, lead a team of warehouse staff, and drive efficient, safe, cost-conscious logistics. You will manage labor, budgets, and asset utilization, build vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with federal and state shipping requirements while delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration (or equivalent experience).
• Strong writing and communication skills; excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to lead and manage teams, maintain confidentiality, and work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all distribution center functions: receiving, picking, scanning, loading, allocation, transportation, safety training, and inventory.
• Direct management of warehouse employees.
• Ensure efficient labor hours and consumables within budget and schedules, including extra shifts as needed.
• Manage selection, purchase, and use of assets; coordinate upgrades and repairs with other departments.
• Develop relationships with third-party vendors for lumping services.
• Maintain certificates of insurance and hold harmless agreements for contracted vendors.
• Develop and maintain staff through hiring, training, and professional development.
• Manage staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and terminations.
• Coordinate with safety to train, observe, update work methods, conduct investigations, and enforce discipline.
• Ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operation to meet service standards.
• Develop and implement work schedules and assignments.
• Advise Operations Director on programs to improve warehouse operations.
• Ensure compliance with shipping/receiving regulations; stay current with laws.
• Suggest efficiency ideas and cost reductions; assist with changes; collaborate across departments.
• Assist in training and motivating personnel for increased effectiveness.
• Lead and develop warehouse team to deliver unparalleled customer service.
• Maintain high accuracy in daily operations.
