Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Warehouse Leader in New York to oversee loading, packing, shipping, and receiving operations. You will lead a team, ensure efficient customer service, and maintain safety and security within the warehouse.

The role requires physical ability, SAP knowledge, and leadership skills. Shift is Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with pay ranging from $21.48 to $29.97 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Lead activities of employees in loading/unloading, selecting, packing, shipping, receiving and transportation of merchandise.
• Oversee incoming/outgoing shipment activity to meet service goals.
• Able to lift and move inventory weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Operate warehouse equipment per manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
• Follow DOT regulations and hazardous material shipping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities of employees engaged in loading, unloading, selecting, packing, shipping, receiving and transportation of merchandise.
• Supervise shipment activity and ensure timely, accurate customer service to meet service goals.
• Perform physical requirements to lift/move inventory throughout the warehouse.
• Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, push carts) per instructions.
• Maintain clean, safe warehouse; conduct daily safety inspections.
• Ensure security of merchandise; manage loss prevention and daily cycle counts.
• Determine routing and load limits; inspect loading operations for compliance with shipping specs.
• Prepare bills of lading and post shipping charges.
• Ensure DOT and hazmat compliance; may lead Warehouse Steering Committee.
