Freight Appointments in Chicago, IL seeks a Warehouse Supervisor/Manager to oversee both operational and commercial sides of North America warehousing and distribution. This hands-on leader reports to the Chicago General Manager and works with ocean and air freight managers.

The role combines day-to-day warehouse management with customer-facing and financial responsibilities. Strong leadership and budget discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising or managing a warehouse, ideally in freight forwarding, logistics, or distribution.
• VNA warehouse setups strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills for managing overseas customer relationships.
• Comfortable with budget/P&L oversight and vendor contract management.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of 3-4 warehouse associates.
• Manage daily work scheduling across 10-12 client accounts; grow the number of accounts.
• Conduct performance reviews and staff development for the warehouse team.
• Serve as primary contact for overseas customers on operational and commercial matters.
• Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
• Hold P&L responsibility for the warehouse budget.
• Procure transportation services and manage contracts with UPS and FedEx.
• Oversee procurement of warehouse supplies.
• Collaborate with ocean and air freight departments as part of local leadership.
