Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of 3-4 warehouse associates.
• Manage daily work scheduling across 10-12 client accounts; grow the number of accounts.
• Conduct performance reviews and staff development for the warehouse team.
• Serve as primary contact for overseas customers on operational and commercial matters.
• Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
• Hold P&L responsibility for the warehouse budget.
• Procure transportation services and manage contracts with UPS and FedEx.
• Oversee procurement of warehouse supplies.
• Collaborate with ocean and air freight departments as part of local leadership.

About the Role

Our client, a freight forwarding company, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor/Manager to oversee both the operational and commercial sides of their North America warehousing and distribution (pick & pack) business in Chicago. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines day-to-day warehouse management with customer-facing and financial responsibilities. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chicago General Manager and will be part of the local leadership team, working alongside the ocean and air freight managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of 3-4 warehouse associates
• Manage daily work scheduling across 10-12 client accounts, a number that is expected to grow
• Conduct performance reviews and manage staff development for the warehouse team
• Serve as the primary point of contact for overseas customers on operational and commercial matters
• Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews
• Hold P&L responsibility for the warehouse budget

• Strong communication skills for managing overseas customer relationships
• Comfortable with budget/P&L oversight and vendor contract management
