Job summary

Givens Packing & Crating in Chesapeake, VA seeks an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse activities at our Chesapeake facility. You will lead warehouse personnel, optimize performance, ensure inventory accuracy, and meet customer expectations in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities include staffing planning, KPI monitoring, coordinating with customers and carriers, ensuring safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement using the WMS

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of warehouse or distribution operations experience.
• Experience supervising warehouse employees.
• Experience in 3PL, warehousing, or distribution.
• Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory management.
• Experience with WMS.
• Ability to manage labor, productivity, and performance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customer accounts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Flexible schedule based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
• Manage, train, and develop warehouse supervisors, leads, and associates.
• Plan daily staffing and labor requirements based on workload and customer demands.
• Monitor operational productivity, labor costs, inventory accuracy, and KPIs.
• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Work closely with customers, transportation providers, and internal departments to coordinate daily operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency, and overall performance.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to monitor inventory, track shipments, and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established operating procedures.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer concerns, and inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and documentation.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide coaching, and address performance concerns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with implementing new customer accounts and operational processes.
