Job summary

Givens Talent in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our warehouse team. You will lead daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and order processing, and coordinate staffing to meet productivity targets.

This hands-on role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work on the warehouse floor, and proficiency with warehouse management systems. You will collaborate with management to maintain safety, accuracy, and timely customer order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years warehouse or distribution experience.
• Experience leading or supervising warehouse staff.
• Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse processes.
• Experience using WMS and RF scanners preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on the warehouse floor and assist with daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory, and order processing.
• Lead, direct, and support warehouse associates to meet daily productivity and accuracy goals.
• Coordinate staffing and daily work assignments based on operational needs.
• Monitor workflow and make adjustments to keep operations running efficiently.
• Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, review activity, and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure shipping and receiving documentation is completed accurately, including bills of lading, receiving paperwork, and driver logs.
• Assist with training, coaching, and developing warehouse employees.
• Identify operational problems and work with management to implement solutions.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure warehouse procedures are followed.
• Communicate with management, employees, and customers regarding daily operations.
• Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Assist with forklift operations and other warehouse duties when needed.
• Open or close the warehouse facility as assigned.
