Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor to oversee the timely receipt, stocking, order filling, and shipment of merchandise at our Indiana facility. You may supervise staff operating rolling stock equipment and automated systems.

The role requires experience with WMS, staff planning, process improvement, and safety programs. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills are essential to support daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Understanding of inventory accounting.
• Knowledge of inbound or outbound functions within the distribution center.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and one-to-one communication.
• Good oral and written communication, including interviewing skills.
• Computer skills: warehouse management systems, Word, Excel, and payroll/personnel systems such as KRONOS.

Responsibilities

• Reviews WMS reports; notifies WMS personnel regarding shutdowns or other WMS failures.
• Uses Standard Operating Procedures to resolve problems; communicates issues to Inbound/Outbound Manager.
• Reviews reports to determine daily department staffing levels; reviews staffing plan with Inbound/Outbound Manager.
• Delivers continuity in utilization of Labor Transfer pay program.
• Conducts weekly and monthly staffing reviews with Inbound/Outbound Manager.
• Partners with Training Department to monitor new employee development tracking.
• Plans daily production goals.
• Uses Productivity Improvement Plan to identify improvement areas.
• Reports quality measurements and status to Inbound/Outbound Manager.
• Maintains employee records daily.
• Supports safety programs to reduce or eliminate injuries.
• Conducts annual employee reviews and merit increase evaluations.
• Interviews and selects candidates for employment in partnership with Human Resources.
• Performs counseling sessions and is empowered to dismiss employees when needed.
