Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture in Shorewood, IL is seeking a Recycler to operate equipment, unload recyclables, and sort materials in a fast-paced distribution center. You will contribute to a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.

Shifts include early mornings with weekend work and a strong emphasis on teamwork. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use various warehouse tools, and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere.
• Strong organizational skills and safety awareness.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklift and bailers.

Responsibilities

• Unload recyclable materials and operate equipment safely.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Sort materials and place in designated areas.

Here’s what you will be doing:

• The Recycler is responsible for operating equipment in a safe manner, unloading recyclable materials, and placing materials in the designated areas.
• This role will help maintain a clean and safe work environment, and identify and report any and all unsafe conditions to the Lead/Manager.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner.
• Unload and sort recyclable materials.
• Place materials in the proper designated areas.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Report any and all unsafe conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

This is what you will need:

• Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to operate equipment (such as forklift, bailer, compactor, densifier, clamp truck, etc).
• Must be able to work flexible hours determined by the needs of the department including weekends.
