Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED with up to one month of related experience. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with on-site work in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: HS diploma or GED, or 1 month related experience or training.
• Language Skills: ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures; write routine reports; speak before groups.
• Mathematical Skills: basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, and percentages; read graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: follow written/oral instructions.
• Work Environment: exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, heat, noise; safety-conscious.
• Physical Demands: frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; stand/walk; repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Operates crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments per customer and AMI procedures; stencil shipping information as required.
• Maintains equipment records and keeps work area clean.
• Follows all safety and quality policies; participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Job Function

Required Skills

Education/Experience- HS diploma/GED; or one (1) month related experience and/or training.

Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply understanding to carry out written and/or oral instructions.

Work Environment-Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually loud.
