Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan is seeking a motivated Material Handler to support warehouse operations. You’ll operate material handling equipment, assist production teams, and help maintain accurate inventory and KanBan processes.

The role requires forklift licensing or the ability to obtain one, plus strong attention to safety and quality. You’ll be part of a team that prioritizes reliability and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from limited choices.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license per OSHA requirements.
• Requires Wonderlic Select Assessment with a score of 50.

Responsibilities

• Provide necessary product and material to production departments as needed.
• Weigh and label product as needed.
• Return product to proper storage locations per KanBan system.
• Shrink wrap finished parts and place in proper storage location.
• Remove KanBans from empty purchased product containers and place on proper KanBan board.
• Cross-train in other warehouse functions and perform those functions when necessary.
• Perform housekeeping activities for warehouse and dock area.
• Other duties as assigned.
