Job description

Job Description: Warehouse Person

The Warehouse Person will be responsible for storing and pulling materials, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring proper handling of shipments and inventory in the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine shipping and packing requirements, verify catalog numbers, markings, and condition of packaging.
  • Load materials to ensure damage-free shipments, prepare shipping documents, and process inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate shipments with production scheduling, identify items with proper SPC numbers, and weigh or count items for shipping or receiving.
  • Store, retrieve, and deliver parts and materials to appropriate departments.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as reach trucks and forklifts, and use hand tools as needed.
  • Read routing sheets, use tools like tape measures and power tools, and perform SPC as required.
  • Pass the Packing and Shipping Operator’s Test and certify product quality and catalog numbers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of machines, equipment, and work area.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Ability to work a minimum of eight hours, walk, hear, see, and use both hands effectively.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist, over 65 lbs., and lift 75 lbs. to a height of 41 inches, carrying it 6 feet.
  • Physical work may occasionally exceed specified levels.
