Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is a global leader supplying aircraft quality raw materials to the aerospace industry. This role prepares customer orders for shipping and assists production by packing, labeling and documenting shipments while following strict quality and safety standards.

You will operate packing tools, maintain equipment and records, and participate in continuous improvement activities. Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform unit conversions.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision.
• Forklift certification preferred; not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Prepares customer orders for shipping and assists production as needed.
• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Operates crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as required.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks shipments per customer/AMI requirements and stencils shipping details.
• Maintains equipment records and performs routine maintenance.
• Maintains a clean work area and adheres to safety and quality policies.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings; supports continuous improvement.
• May lift up to 50 pounds as part of duties.

Job Function

Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.

Essential Duties

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required Skills

• EDUCATION:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• REASONING ABILITY:Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES:Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• OTHER ABILITIES:Ability to work irregular hours.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $18.00/Hr. - USD $23.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
