Job summary

J&L Building Materials Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Manager for our New Castle, DE location. The role leads daily warehouse operations, trains new staff, and upholds safety, efficiency, and accuracy standards.

You will work with the Branch Manager to optimize shipping/receiving, manage resources within budget, and ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining inventory integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of warehouse management or supervisory experience in the last 5 years.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year forklift operation experience.
• Ability to learn Traverse/ERP systems.
• Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math including percentages, measurements, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the Warehouse staff with coaching, direction, and performance oversight.
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager to align operations and coordinate with sales, purchasing, production, and records management.
• Develop, implement, and improve procedures for shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory management.
• Oversee transfers between branches using Traverse ERP and ensure on-time delivery.
• Lead safety planning, daily inspections, and facility compliance initiatives.
• Train and onboard new warehouse employees on procedures and safety protocols.
