Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Memphis, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and repair equipment, buildings, and fixtures in the distribution center. You will maintain lift trucks and keep them in good repair while upholding safety policies and corporate values.

Responsibilities include plumbing, ventilation, racking, dock equipment, roof inspection, welding and repair of metal structures, hydraulic systems, and battery management. Valid license required; overtime and various shifts possible.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance manuals, and procedures.
• Basic math for quantities, measurements, and interpreting schematics.
• Capable of problem solving in a distribution center setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Willingness to work overtime and various shifts.
• Must have valid driver’s license and relevant licenses.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair plumbing.
• Maintain ventilation systems.
• Install, repair and replace racking.
• Maintain shipping/receiving dock equipment.
• Inspect and evaluate roof structure.
• Weld, cut, design and repair aluminum and steel structures.
• Repair hydraulic systems, air compressors, and fire systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on lift trucks.
• Repair other equipment as needed.
• Maintain battery chargers, batteries, tuggers and pallet jacks.
