Job summary

The Kroger Great Lakes Distribution Center is seeking a maintenance technician to provide general maintenance, repair and support for assigned service calls at the Houston stores. You will drive to stores daily, troubleshoot equipment, and perform component replacements when needed.

You will maintain inventory, document usage and labor, and comply with all policies while working in varying temperatures and conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years’ proven experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance.
• Ability to use manufacturer interface software.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, manuals and schematics.
• EPA Type 2 Certification.

Responsibilities

• Drive independently to stores on a daily basis as assigned.
• Assist with and perform various preventive maintenance tasks and procedures.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair equipment as directed.
• Assist in performing component replacement.
• Navigate and investigate electronic controls interfaces.
• Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of parts.
• Operate equipment, vehicles, powered industrial trucks and aerial lifts safely.
• Complete repair, labor, parts purchasing and usage documentation promptly.
