Who We Are
Airco Service Company is a local, established service contractor based in Troy, IL, serving the St. Louis Metro East for over 40 years. Airco provides HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and industrial service work across commercial/industrial and residential customers, including marquee accounts such as Dr. Pepper, AirGas, and area ethanol plants.
Position Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager owns the flow of equipment, materials, and vehicles that keep Airco's service and install teams running. This role leads the warehouse runner team, manages incoming equipment orders, stages jobs daily, keeps the warehouse stocked and organized, and builds out fleet management processes for the company's service and install vehicles. This is a hands-on leadership role and the go-to point of contact for field teams and dispatch on material and equipment needs.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the Warehouse Runner Team
- Supervise, schedule, and train runners; prioritize and assign runs across departments so every crew has what they need, when they need it
- Set clear expectations for turnaround and accountability; serve as main point of contact for field teams and dispatch
Manage Equipment Orders & Job Staging
- Receive and verify shipments, resolving shortages/damage; keep order status visible so jobs aren't booked ahead of equipment
- Stage and confirm equipment for each day's jobs before crews arrive; coordinate deliveries when crews can't pick up
Maintain Warehouse Stock and Organization
- Keep common items stocked so crews are never held up
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe
Build and Manage Fleet Processes
- Develop fleet processes (maintenance, inspections, repairs, assignments) and maintain a complete roster with registration, insurance, and drivers
- Schedule preventive maintenance/repairs to minimize downtime; manage vendor relationships (repair shops, tire vendors, body shops, upfitters
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in warehouse management, logistics, dispatch, or materials coordination — ideally in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or another trades/service environment
- Prior supervisory experience (runners, warehouse staff, drivers, or similar)
- Experience coordinating a vehicle fleet, including maintenance scheduling and vendor relationships
- Strong organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities across departments
- Clear, proactive communicator and reliable point of contact for field crews and dispatch
- Comfortable with basic inventory/scheduling software and tracking tools
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Able to lift and move equipment and materials (minimum 50 lbs)
- Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
