Job summary

US Foods in the Chicago area is seeking a Manager, Warehouse to lead daily operations, ensure safety and accuracy, drive cost-effective service to customers, and uphold a high standard of quality across receiving, storage and outbound loading.

You will supervise warehouse associates, coach performance, schedule shifts, monitor productivity, and partner with leadership to optimize inventory, shipping/receiving, and compliance with MSS and FSQA, while fostering a safe, respectful work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year overseeing a workforce.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to ensure injury-free associates and a safety-first culture.
• Oversee and develop warehouse associates through coaching and policy training.
• Maintain clear communication to direct workflow and ensure efficient operations.
• Direct and supervise performance of the warehouse team and manage productivity targets.
• Participate in hiring warehouse staff and setting performance plans with leadership.
• Ensure orders are accurately picked, staged, and loaded for shipment.
• Monitor productivity and “mis-picks,” taking corrective action as needed.
• Designate dock locations for inbound carriers and ensure stock is properly located.
