Job summary

Odyssey Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Lead at our Anchorage, AK facility to oversee day-to-day warehouse and supply chain activities, including shipping, receiving, material handling, and forklift operations.

The role guides Warehouse Associates, supports loading/unloading, and ensures safety procedures and company standards are followed; training temporary labor and maintaining accurate documentation are also part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience.
• Demonstrated forklift operation experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts with capacities up to 55,000 lbs.
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety and material-handling procedures.
• Ability to lead by example and support other warehouse employees.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently lift up to 40 lbs., with occasional lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme outdoor and warehouse temperatures, including temperatures as low as -20F.
• Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and accountable.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while handling multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and material-handling activities.
• Safely operate assigned forklifts and other warehouse equipment, including forklifts with capacities of up to 55,000 lbs.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain communication with the Shipping/Receiving office.
• Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures at all times.
• Complete forklift pre-trip inspections and safely change propane tanks as needed.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn and immediately report accidents, damages, claims, equipment issues, or other safety concerns.
• Help guide Warehouse Associates and participate in training temporary labor.
• Assist with warehouse planning and daily workflow to ensure materials are moved efficiently.
• Maintain clean and safe warehouse floors and work areas.
• Document temperatures for refrigerated freight when required.
• Safely handle incoming and outgoing materials while protecting freight from damage.
• Work effectively in extreme temperatures, including environments as cold as -20F.
