Job summary

Schaedler Yesco Distribution in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise shipping, receiving, and wire cutting operations, ensuring quality and timely output in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires hands-on leadership, ability to train staff, and use of Warehouse Management Systems; starting times 4:00 PM or 7:00 PM as per schedule; onsite position with strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior warehouse lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct tasks including preparing, picking, packing, staging, and shipping of material.
• Communicate expectations to team and maintain organized work areas.
• Coach and mentor staff, monitor accuracy and safety; participate in hiring/onboarding as needed.
• Ensure high customer service levels and timely throughput; drive continuous improvement.

Work Hours:

Monday-Friday, with a 4:00 PM or 7:00 PM start time, continuing until production is completed.

Summary/ Objective:

Performs and leads a variety of tasks in support of warehousing functions which include but are not limited to: shipping, receiving, and wire cutting with a focus on quality, productivity, output and customer service standards.

Essential Functions:

• Performs and directs a variety of tasks including preparing, picking, packing, staging, and shipping of material in a timely and accurate manner
• Communicate expectations to team
• Maintain an organized work area
• Maintain high customer service levels
• Measure and address the effectiveness and productivity of the warehouse team
• Monitor and coach accuracy of work performed by warehouse teamResolve problems and answer questions
• May participate in the hiring and onboarding process
• Answer communication regarding your area within 24 hours
• Verify the work done in your area of responsibility is performed correctly and in accordance with existing Work Instructions.
• Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the work performed in your area.
• Carry out safety activities to include ensuring compliance with safety policy and ensuring employee training is conducted.
• Provide training and coaching to improve performance

Competencies:

• Hands-on dedication to training team members and championing new ideas
• Efficient supervisory techniques and skills
• A strong background in warehouse operations including, shipping, receiving, delivery and inventory control
• Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft office and Warehouse Management Systems.

Work Environment:

This job operates primarily in warehouse environment. Varying temperatures and moving equipment are present in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:

• The ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and various warehousing machinery/tools
• Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently
• Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Travel:

This position does not include overnight or branch travel.

Certifications:

• Forklift certified or the ability to become Forklift Certified is required

Education and Experience:
