The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the ITAD facility, ensuring efficient, accurate processing of electronic equipment. The Team Lead supervises staff, implements safety standards, and ensures compliance with security protocols, while working closely with the Supervisor to meet operational goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise daily operations, ensuring team performance meets safety, security, and quality standards.
• Train, coach, and mentor warehouse staff to maintain operational efficiency and adherence to company policies.
• Support the Supervisor by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
  
  

Inventory & Workflow Management

• Oversee receiving, processing, and distribution of IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory tracking.
• Coordinate with various departments to maintain optimal workflow and prevent bottlenecks in processes.
• Manage and improve the handoff between processing stations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to Lean principles.
• Ensure that workflow adheres to 5S standards (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain efficiency and cleanliness.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Identify areas for operational efficiency improvement, utilizing Lean and 5S methodologies.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring process improvements, including tracking progress and reporting on outcomes.
  
  

Safety & Security Compliance

• Enforce the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety regulations.
• Ensure that all staff follow security protocols for handling IT assets, including chain-of-custody procedures and data security standards (e.g., R2v3, ISO 27001).
• Conduct regular safety audits and report incidents, supporting the Supervisor in corrective actions.
  
  

Quality Control

• Inspect processed equipment for quality and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Assist with regular audits to ensure the facility meets R2v3 and ISO 9001 quality control standards.
  
  

Performance Tracking & Reporting

• Monitor team performance against key metrics, such as throughput, safety compliance, and asset tracking accuracy.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Supervisor on inventory levels, team performance, and other key operational data.
  
  

Project Management

• Lead special projects assigned by site leadership, working independently with minimal oversight.
  
  

Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in an ITAD or logistics environment.
• Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  
  

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of ITAD processes and data security standards.
• Proficient in Excel and inventory management software.
• Familiarity with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen principles for process improvement.
• Knowledge of data security protocols (R2v3, ISO 27001).
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
• Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled warehouse environments.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends when required.
  
  

Education or Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• IT related certification(s) as applicable (ACMT, CCT, MTA, CompTIA).
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) highly desirable.
• Knowledge of data security protocols and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) is a plus.
