A leading company is seeking a qualified professional to manage environmental health and safety initiatives. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, improving operational processes, and delivering effective training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Data and Digital Literacy: Possesses knowledge of data collection modes, techniques, tools, and data analytics. Responsible for articulating the levers that influence data, ensuring data quality, organizing processes and information for analysis, and developing and implementing technology changes across multiple processes within the assigned area.
Environmental Protection: Has knowledge of environmental policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations involving the environment. Tasks include operating evaluation tools for air, water, and waste pollution, supporting regulatory visits, evaluating pollution control and management, integrating environmental considerations into process design, interpreting compliance reports, and assisting in developing company policies related to environmental risks.
Operational Excellence: Understands organizational processes, root cause analysis techniques, department workflows, SOPs, and OBW processes. Responsibilities involve explaining operational functions, clarifying departmental roles, reading SOPs and OBWs, and identifying primary operational functions.
Partnership Collaboration: Knowledgeable about stakeholder identification, communication, engagement techniques, and management effectiveness tools. Supports project delivery, process updates, resolves business issues, and demonstrates functional knowledge of the supported business unit or organization.
Employee Health and Safety: Familiar with OSHA guidelines, compliance, safety and food safety audits, emergency procedures, and safety record maintenance. Participates in inspections, maintains safety equipment, monitors hazards, applies continuous improvement tools, and reports violations or accidents.
Asset Protection Security: Knowledge of asset protection policies, environmental health and safety laws. Responsibilities include using theft prevention tools, investigating breaches, managing access controls, installing security systems, maintaining loss prevention records, and supporting loss reduction practices.
EHS Training Delivery: Understands training methodologies and development processes. Supports instructor activities, manages feedback, and supports training initiatives using organizational lifecycles.
Risk Management: Knowledge of risk assessment and management processes. Produces reports, identifies risks, documents procedures, implements risk management, and conducts employee training on risk awareness.
Process Improvement: Knowledge of critical workflows, problem identification, systemic issues, and improvement methods. Leads incident investigations, provides solutions, and coaches team members.
Influential Communication: Organizes and communicates effectively, influences team and partners, uses data to support messages, actively listens, and builds professional networks.
Transportation Operations: Knowledge of transportation laws, safety rules, and documentation. Ensures legal compliance, monitors performance, manages relationships with stakeholders, and oversees transportation activities.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance, managing performance, fostering a culture of respect and integrity, delivering customer service, and striving for continuous improvement.
Benefits at Sam's Club include health, financial, paid time off, education programs, and additional perks. The position offers a salary range of $65,500 to $98,000 plus bonuses and possibly regional pay adjustments.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in relevant fields or 2 years of related experience in EHS and continuous improvement methodologies. Preferred qualifications include certifications such as ASP, LPC, CSP, investigative experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
