Culture Fresh Foods, Inc is a Dairy and Non-Dairy processing facility headquartered in Naugatuck, CT. The facility produces a wide range of dairy and plant-based spoonable and spreadable cultured and ESL (extended shelf life) products for private label, co-pack, and under its own brand.

Position Summary

The Warehouse Lead will oversee and manage the daily warehouse operations at our non-dairy processing facility in Naugatuck, CT. The role involves receiving, processing, and organizing inventory using SAP Business One and scanners, working predominantly in a refrigerated environment. Responsibilities include picking, packing, and shipping orders, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse. The ideal candidate will have proven warehouse experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate various warehouse equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Receiving and Processing: Utilize SAP Business One to receive materials and perform the necessary transactions.
  2. Order Fulfillment: Pick sales orders from stock using scanners, pack, and ship orders accurately.
  3. Inventory Management: Manage, organize, and retrieve stock, with some items weighing between 50 - 100 lbs.
  4. Refrigerated Work Environment: Work in a refrigerated area (35 degrees) for the majority of the day.
  5. Stock Organization: Maintain and organize inventory, including performing cycle counts.
  6. Safety and Organization: Conduct walk-arounds to ensure the warehouse is safe and well organized.
  7. Shipment Validation: Validate incoming and outgoing shipments.
  8. Warehouse Optimization: Organize warehouse space efficiently and propose ideas for optimizing warehousing procedures.
  9. Receiving and Unloading: Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items appropriately.
  10. Order Accuracy: Check, verify, and fill customer picking lists or packing lists.
  11. Safety and Hygiene Compliance: Adhere to all company safety and hygiene regulations.
  12. Team Leadership: Support and manage warehouse associates to maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
  13. Ethical Standards: Lead by example by adhering to Culture Fresh Foods Code of Conduct, including company policies, standards, and specifications.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner. Required to wear food safety/sanitation clothing. This position necessitates conformance to personal hygiene regulations. Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Ensure all programs are being upheld and documentation is current. Vigilantly monitor equipment operation for indications of impending problems and possible operational improvements.

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven warehouse experience (3-6 months).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse computer systems, scanners, and ability to learn SAP Business One.
  • Ability to train employees and manage team performance.
  • Adaptability to organizational changes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude and team ethic.
  • Obey all safety rules.
  • Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Willing to obtain CDL Class B license.
Physical Requirements

Occasional lifting of 25-50 pounds, operate a forklift, and work in a refrigerated environment.

Working Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, outside weather in all conditions, and chemicals used in the process.
