Job Description

Leads a team of technicians that perform routine and frequent manual and heavy labor tasks to properly consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices and ESOL policies, practices and procedures. Ensuring that customer orders are safely and accurately processed on time and according to all internal procedures and in compliance with all applicable regulations. Ensure effective communications with internal and external teams.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  1. Segregate and package material for transport along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Customer/Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
  2. Oversee large waste disposal projects/jobs with ability to manage a team of technicians. Schedule and distribute work to team. Instruct, provide feedback, direct and assist team in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with requirements and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures.
  3. Maintain operational documentation to include reports, inspections, procedures, order requirements, etc.
  4. Communicate with other sites and corporate teams to coordinate work.
  5. Monitor order status from order receipt to settlement on each order.
  6. Supervise scheduled pickups and deliveries, including communications with customer to resolve issues or clarify requirements.
  7. Primary responsibility for creating and maintaining operational reports, including IFTA taxes, customer reports, throughput reports, SB20/50 reporting, productivity reports, etc.
  8. Follow outbound shipments of material to ensure receipt by destination and payment.
  9. Responsible for purchasing for the facilities including generating purchase orders, work orders, and review of invoicing for services provided.
  10. Support compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.
  11. Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties and changes in operations.
  12. Affect positive change and continuous improvement.

  15. Train technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes and necessary paperwork. Provide training and coaching to team members as needed.
  16. Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies.
  17. Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage/loading and off-loading.
  18. Maintain records for DOT and State officials as assigned.
  19. Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years preferred experience with packaging, transporting and/or storing hazardous waste.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 40-hour Hazwoper course completion
  • Knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Basic skills using Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Sharepoint
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with or knowledge of continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, Agile, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of or experience with project management
  • Willingness and ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to operate a powered industrial truck (forklift)
