Job summary

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic Warehouse Janitor to join our Recycling & Warehouse - Millstream team in Bridgeton, MO. This hourly full-time role supports our mission of Changing Lives Through the Power of Work, with duties ranging from unloading donations to organizing inventory.

The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, is able to work with a diverse team, and possesses basic arithmetic abilities.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and able to interact with a diverse workforce.
• Basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Handle donations with care and respect.
• Unload inbound shipments and move products to designated areas.
• Ensure shipments are accurate and undamaged; report variances.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment; load correctly.
• Perform picking duties to meet customer service standards.
• Move product from staging into trailers.
• Sort donated and purchased goods into categories (sales floor, seasonal, online, salvage, trash).
• Safely operate machinery to tip or compact products for sale or recycling.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards; work quickly.
• Maintain positive relationships with team members and leadership.
• Keep a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist with maintenance as required.
• Keep records to maintain tight inventory control and security.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Handle all donations with care and respect.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and product type are loaded and shipped.
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product from staging and storage areas into trailers.
• Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, salvage, and trash, according to established guidelines.
• Use machinery safely and appropriately to tip or compact designated products for sale or recycling.
• Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
• Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.Safeguard company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, Risk Management, or employee hotline.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
