Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is hiring a Warehouse Janitor for the Mills team in Bridgeton, MO. The role is hourly, full-time, with a starting rate of $15.50 per hour and a potential bonus of up to $250 per month.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and able to work with diverse coworkers. Typical duties include loading/unloading donations, organizing goods, and maintaining inventory records with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Effective communication with coworkers, customers and management.
• Must be organized and able to interact with a diverse workforce.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

• Handle donations with care and respect.
• Unload inbound shipments and move products to designated areas.
• Ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and undamaged; report variances.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment; load and ship exact quantities.
• Perform picking duties meeting customer service standards.
• Move product from staging to trailers efficiently.
• Sort donated and purchased goods into categories per guidelines.
• Operate machinery safely to tip or compact products for sale or recycling.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly.
• Maintain positive relationships with team and leadership.
• Keep area clean and assist with maintenance as required.
• Maintain inventory records and safeguard property and information.
• Report theft or policy violations to management or HR.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Handle all donations with care and respect.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and product type are loaded and shipped.
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product from staging and storage areas into trailers.
• Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, salvage, and trash, according to established guidelines.
• Use machinery safely and appropriately to tip or compact designated products for sale or recycling.
• Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
• Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.
• Safeguard company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, Risk Management, or employee hotline.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
