Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is hiring a Forklift Operator to support our Recycling & Warehouse operations in Millstream. This role offers an hourly rate of $17.50 and a full-time schedule with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • No degree is required; HS diploma/GED preferred.
  • Forklift experience or 1 year of Goodwill warehouse experience.
  • Forklift Operator Certification is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and management.
  • Must be organized and able to interact with a diverse population.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

  • Handles all donations with care and respect.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated areas.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and undamaged; report variances.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment; load correctly.
  • Perform picking duties to meet customer service standards.
  • Move product from staging to trailers and maintain a clean work area.
  • Operate machinery safely to tip or compact designated products.
  • Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working efficiently.
  • Build positive relationships with team members and leadership.
  • Keep records for inventory control and security.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Handles all donations with care and respect.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated areas.
  • Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and product type are loaded and shipped.
  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and storage areas into trailers.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Use machinery safely and appropriately to tip or compact designated products for sale or recycling.
  • Maintains high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.
  • Safeguards company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, Risk Management, or employee hotline
  • Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Individual and family medical benefits for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week.
  • Individual and family dental and vision benefits on the first of the month following the hire date for employees working 20 or more hours week.
  • Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance on the first of the month following the hire date for employees working 20 or more hours per week.
