MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries seeks an energetic, self-motivated Recycling & Warehouse Assistant Manager to join the Recycling & Warehouse - Millstream! This hourly, full-time role offers $22.50 per hour with a bonus potential up to $500 per month, and responsibilities include overseeing warehouse

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
• One year of management experience is required.
• MO or IL driver’s license and insurance required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing warehouse and recycling operations, resources, and budgets to ensure goals are met.
• Model core values to uphold safety, ethics, and quality within the store.
• Supervise, direct, and train staff and ensure they perform essential functions.
• Provide superior internal and external customer service to ensure donor/shoppers/staff retention and de-escalate dissatisfaction.
• Coach employees concerning performance, including discipline up to termination.
• Assign daily job duties to achieve daily tasks.
• Identify and recommend employees for advancement.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct.
• Follow agency policies, procedures, and values.
• Arrange replacements for absent employees and approve payroll.
• Eliminate wasteful practices through process improvement.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Valid MO or IL state driver’s license and insurance is required.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Assists the Warehouse Manager in overseeing warehouse and recycling operations, resources, and budgets to ensure all goals and benchmarks are met or exceeded.
• Model core values to uphold a culture with an understanding and commitment to safety, ethics, and quality within the store.
• Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff and ensure they perform their essential/primary functions.
• Provide superior internal and external customer service to ensure repeat donors, shoppers, and staff retention and de-escalate customer dissatisfaction quickly and effectively.
• Coach and counsel employees concerning the performance of their job duties, including discipline up to and including termination.
• Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to achieve daily operational tasks.
• Helps to identify and recommend employees with proven performance for advancement.
• Safeguards company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, or Risk Management.
• Must read, follow, model, and enforce all agency policies, procedures, and values.
• Utilizes efficient staffing methods to ensure the store is staffed appropriately. Arranges for replacements of absent employees when necessary. Audits, edits, and approves payroll.
• Eliminates wasteful practices through process improvement.
• Maintains a professional appearance, adhering to MERS Goodwill’s dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.
