Unity Lab Services provides integrated lab services, support, and supply management. Our customized offerings and experienced service team address our customers' laboratory needs. The position is located in Rahway, NJ.

How do we make an impact?

The role focuses on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services, including order entry, management, customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, and chemical tracking.

What will you do?

1. Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory and order management systems for activities such as replenishments, disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, expediting, customer service, product returns, and backorder processing.
2. Deliver chemical packages within a laboratory environment.
3. Sustain and maintain chemical stockroom inventory.
4. Pickup hazardous waste.
5. Follow work processes as outlined in written procedures.
6. Address customer concerns effectively, aiming for resolution within established timeframes, and communicate proactively with supervisors about customer issues or potential problems.
7. Engage in process improvement activities.
8. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience

1-2 years in relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory setting or services.

Validated customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently with strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
• Proficiency in using handheld scanners and entering data into various systems, with analytical skills to reconcile reports.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites, which may include spaces with chemical allergens (penicillin, tetracycline, etc.).
• Use of PPE such as lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump hats, etc., depending on the area.
• Capability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may lift up to 50 pounds using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
