Job summary

OnTrac in DeSoto, TX is hiring a Warehouse Hostler / Yard Driver to safely maneuver trailers in the dock area and coordinate with the yard team and Operations Management. This role requires at least 1 year of driving experience (preferably with trailers), a clean driving record, and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings including TSA checks.

• Must provide 5–10 year MVR history.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment per Safety Program.
• Pre-trip and inspect each trailer for DOT compliance.
• Position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor.
• Switch trailers during daily sort and hook up sets for line hauls.
• Communicate trailer moves and numbers with management.

OnTrac is hiring a Warehouse Hostler / Yard Driver.

OnTrac Hostlers are responsible for safely positioning and maneuvering trailers to and from the dock. This position works closely with the yard team and Operations Management.

Location: 802 East Centre Park Blvd, Desoto, TX 75115

Pay: $22.06 per hour

Shift: Monday - Friday from 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

The Must-Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both
• Minimum 1-year driving experience, preferably with trailers or towed machinery
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years old, possess a clean driving record, valid identification and be able to pass a TSA screening
• Must be able to provide a 5-year to 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

The Responsibilities:

• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment as outlined in the Company Safety Program
• Properly pre-trip and inspect each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards
• Correctly position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor
• Switching trailers as needed during the daily sort; hook up sets of trailers for line hauls leaving the facility
• Clearly communicate trailer moves and numbers with operations management
