Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations at our Houston site. You will handle shipping/receiving, inventory control, and order preparation, with opportunities to operate forklifts and assist with loading/unloading trucks.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in documentation, and collaboration within the warehouse team. A high school diploma or equivalent is typical; readiness to work outdoors and overtime as needed is

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior field experience is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; communicate with supervision.
  • Experience in a warehouse environment and with inventory control.
  • Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day warehouse activities including shipping/receiving and inventory control.
  • Prepare daily shipments: pulling orders, packaging, freight/invoice paperwork.
  • Palletize, wrap, and deliver orders to shipping area or disciplines.
  • Assist in loading/unloading trucks from trailers as needed.
  • Inspect items for damage and discrepancies; report shortages.
  • Pack/unpack stock and apply labels/stickers for tracking.
  • Conduct onsite warehouse inventories and restocking; fulfill backorders.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and document shortages.
  • Ensure shipping/receiving documents are accurate and timely.
  • Operate forklifts and related equipment as required.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control
  • Selects and prepares daily shipments which may includes pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers
  • Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines
  • Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers
  • Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items
  • Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers
  • Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
  • May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts
  • Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
  • May operate forklift and other equipment – stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, scissor, etc
Qualifications
  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
  • Field experience in chosen craft discipline
  • Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.
Requirements
  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must have all required tools
  • Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
