Job description

As a Warehouse Group Leader (GL1) with Hoosier Racing Tire, this position is a floor-level process leader who reports directly to the Logistics Manager. The GL1 position helps to meet warehousing goals by ensuring our employees have a safe work environment and are providing quality work by following the proper specifications and work procedures.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

1. Ensure employees are using proper PPE and following safe and approved work practices.
2. Report safety issues to the GL2 and assist in their correction.
3. Oversee proper loading, unloading, receiving, and shipping processes, including trailer and container inspections.
4. Monitor product movement through the warehouse.
5. Communicate quality issues to GL2.
6. Coordinate with GL2 on maintenance, building & grounds, or equipment issues.
7. Maintain neat, clean, and orderly work areas to ensure safety.
8. Continuously improve skills and knowledge related to work and products.
9. Lead by example with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, motivating and multitasking effectively.
10. Communicate with department leaders as needed.
11. Follow daily tasks assigned by GL2 and supervisors.

Your profile

THE ENVIRONMENT

• Prioritize safety, adhering to all safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
• Work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperature fluctuations, forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting and operating machinery, with training provided.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• No active written attendance warnings.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Follow instructions written in standard English.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as bending, climbing, and reaching.
• Lift 20-75 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship provided.
• No relocation expenses provided.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Warehouse experience is preferred.
