Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Elwood, Illinois is hiring a Material Handler to join our warehouse team. This role supports safe, efficient distribution with sit-down forklifts and clamp trucks, in a clean, well-run facility.

Weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and paid training are provided to help you advance. You will perform loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and cycle counting while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator's license certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work in a diverse environment and maintain relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Work within contract performance measurement guidelines.
• Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide technical support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
