Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain material handling equipment and facility systems. The role ensures uptime of forklifts, pallet jacks, scrubbers, and related gear while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and safety standards.

Responsibilities include ordering parts, maintaining records, and performing general maintenance across warehouse, shop, and office facilities. Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8:00pm to 4:30am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of maintenance experience in large warehouse or fleet shop.
• Foodservice distribution or warehousing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections according to schedules.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Schedule and perform general maintenance for facilities, grounds, and shop areas.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scrubber, etc.). systems, general maintenance, repairs and installations on various equipment. Helps to maintain the facilities, buildings and grounds according to an established preventative maintenance schedule and on 'as needed" basis. Observes all safety and regulatory standards. Ensures quality of work product while working in an efficient and timely manner. This position functions as a team member within the department and organization as required and performs any duties assigned to best serve the Company.

Obtains daily work orders for material handling equipment maintenance and/or repair. Minimize down time for equipment.

Orders necessary parts required to maintain equipment.

Performs preventative maintenance according to equipment standards, guidelines and timeframes.

Ensures batteries and battery charging equipment are properly maintained and functional according to standards.

Maintains master maintenance and repair schedule and systems to ensure proper temperature and operation, assisting with repairs and maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining of facility.

Maintaining maintenance shop in a clean and orderly manner. Keeps accurate maintenance records and is financially prudent with all expenses incurred.

Follows all safety standards and policies.

Performs all needed general maintenance and repairs for grounds, warehouse, shop and office facilities.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8:00pm to 4:30am

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience

Experience: 1 Year maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance and general maintenance and repairs for large warehouse, fleet shop and office facilities.

Preferred qualifications:

Education: Associates/2-year technical

Experience: 6 - 10 Years in maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance and general maintenance and repairs for large warehouse, fleet shop and office facilities. Foodservice distribution and warehousing industry experience.

Professional Certification(s): Material Handling Equipment Technician education/certification
