Job summary

NFI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle basic repair tasks and upkeep generated by day-to-day warehouse operations, under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor, Manager, or General Manager.

The role involves evaluating failures, performing preventative maintenance, setting up equipment, coordinating with vendors, and supporting safety programs. Strong communication and self-motivation are essential in a dynamic facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 4-6 years related experience.
• On-site training provided as needed.
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work in varying facility conditions.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures in the field.
• Relies on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Works under general supervision.
• Creativity and latitude are expected.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates mechanical and/or electrical failures to determine corrective action.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs production equipment.
• Operates production machinery per schedules and inspects finished products for quality.
• Sets up, loads, starts, and adjusts process variables; diagnoses issues.
• Communicates repaired items to the Manager promptly.
• Notifies about items that cannot be repaired and may involve outside vendors.
• Maintains tools required and coordinates tool purchases.
• Supports the Safety Program and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Makes recommendations on repairs or upgrades to the Manager.
• Maintains a list of contractors/vendors.
• Notifies shift supervisor of significant deviations from normal operations.
• Assists packers and material handling staff as needed.
