Job summary

Schneider Electric is looking for a Warehouse Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing team in Fairfield, Ohio for the Fall 2026 semester. This is a part-time, onsite opportunity, so the ideal candidate will be located in the general area.

This role offers involvement with warehouse operations, SAP EWM setup, material movement, and line-transfer readiness, working with cross-functional teams across Warehouse, Engineering, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
• Junior or Senior preferred.
• Basic Excel skills — data entry, sorting, and basic formulas.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large amounts of material and bin data.
• Ability to follow standardized processes and naming conventions.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite and be on your feet for extended periods, including lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.
• SAP/EWM or warehouse operations experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support warehouse layout and implementation, including rack layouts, PIT flow, and material handling.
• Help coordinate rack installation projects and determine what existing rack assets should be reused, transferred, or purchased.
• Support SAP EWM setup, including storage bins, material data, bin types, slotting, and replenishment levels.
• Maintain bin assignments, labeling, control cycles, and warehouse data.
• Support material moves, line-side supply, Kanban, and kitting processes.
• Help improve putaway, picking, and material flow strategies based on part characteristics and demand.
• Assist with root cause analysis and process improvements related to warehouse operations.
• Work cross-functionally with Warehouse, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations teams on line-transfer readiness and continuous improvement projects.

This is a great opportunity for a Junior or Senior engineering or supply chain student interested in warehouse operations, material flow, and process improvement. For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD $23 to $27.50 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
