Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborative with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SAP, or similar software is a plus.

  • Support planning, tracking, and execution of projects.
  • Use SAP Engineering BOM, OE, and 3D Creo/AutoCAD for layout changes.
  • Contribute to capacity planning and workflow optimization.

Job description

Kickstart your manufacturing engineering career with hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a real impact on the shop floor. As a Fall 2026 Manufacturing Engineering Intern at our El Paso, TX campus, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and plant teams to improve processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and build practical skills in lean manufacturing, process design, and production efficiency. No visa sponsorship or relocation will be provided for this role.

What will you do:
  • Support manufacturing improvement initiatives through time studies, video analysis, and production flow analysis
  • Participate in SIM 1 meetings and follow up on DISS actions and improvement ideas
  • Support Kaizen Blitz activities, 5S events, and other lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Assist with process documentation, including work instructions and Single Point Lessons
  • Partner with safety teams to identify ergonomic improvements and promote safe work practices
  • Support LDS activities, including e-performance and e-andon follow-up
  • Assist with project planning, tracking, and execution to improve manufacturing and maintenance efficiency
  • Support engineering activities using tools such as SAP Engineering BOM, OE, 3D Creo Viewer, and AutoCAD for layout modifications
  • Contribute to capacity planning, process design, and workflow optimization efforts across the plant
What qualifications will make you successful:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in improving manufacturing processes
  • Interest in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, ergonomics, and production efficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and operational standards
  • Eagerness to learn and apply technical concepts in a hands‑on manufacturing environment
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with engineers, production teams, and cross‑functional partners
  • Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, SAP, or other engineering/manufacturing software is a plus
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative while working with guidance and support

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD $23 to $27.50 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.
