Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Warehouse Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana. Responsibilities include maintenance and troubleshooting of warehousing equipment, plant utilities, and routine PM.

The role requires 8–10 years in plant/warehouse maintenance, forklift experience, and the ability to train operations staff if needed. Second shift is Monday–Friday 2:00pm–10:30pm with paid OT and full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational certification preferred.
• 8–10 years plant/warehouse maintenance including electrical and mechanical repair.
• Ability to make quick, reliable decisions for customer and Ryder.
• Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.
• Experience operating forklift equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on warehousing equipment independently.
• Maintains plant utilities: fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum as applicable.
• Manages shop maintenance, parts inventory, ordering, and plant reporting systems.
• Performs routine forklift repairs and battery maintenance.
• Conducts routine preventive maintenance and records repairs.
• Provides safety, quality, and efficiency training if required.

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay $30.00 per hour

• Additional Pay: $2.00 per hour when assigned to second shift

• Overtime Pay $45.00 per hour

• Schedule: Second Shift Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 8-10 years plant/warehouse general maintenance experience, including eletrical and mechanical repair and trouble-shooting

• Has the ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder

• Good organizational, communication, and planning skills

• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred

• Experience operating forklift equipment required

• Equipment certification may be required

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and trouble-shooting functions on all warehousing equipment in an independent and effective manner

• Maintains and trouble-shoots plant utility systems including fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum as applicable

• Understands shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems

• Performs routine forklift repairs

• Maintains batteries and related equipment

• Perfoms routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintains records of repairs

• If required, provides training, including aspects of safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency of packaging/warehouse equipment, for operations associates

• Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed
