Job summary

General Fasteners Company in Portage, MI is seeking a full-time Distribution Associate to handle receiving, picking, packing, and shipping. You will maintain inventory accuracy and a safe warehouse, working as part of a detail-oriented team in a casual environment that values growth and internal advancement opportunities.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, forklift experience or certification preferred, and a reliable 1st shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines.
• Previous warehouse or distribution experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Familiarity with inventory systems and handheld scanners is a plus.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment following company standards.
• Load and unload delivery trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Organize stock and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other general warehouse duties as assigned.
