Job summary

Farwest Steel Corporation in Washington state seeks a Warehouse Crane operator to support metal processing operations. The role requires operating the overhead crane, moving materials, and ensuring safe, efficient workflow on the shop floor.

The position is full-time, onsite with a graveyard shift from 10:30pm to 7:00am. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, a 401K match, safety bonuses, and paid vacation and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 12 months crane/warehouse experience.
• Ability to read and write English and follow written instructions.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Familiarity with overhead cranes, Bushman attachments, forklift, and railcar movers.
• Team-oriented and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, customer’s vehicles, etc.
• Move, unload, load, and store materials in warehouse while following safety policies
• Perform weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow safety procedures
• Occasionally backup other positions during vacations or sick leave
• Operate forklift or railcar mover as needed
• Adhere to company attendance standards
• Work in a warehouse setting with exposure to weather conditions
• Maintain focus to monitor production and safety conditions

About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: Graveyard Shift, Mon. to Fri. 10:30pm - 7:00am

Wage: $19.25 to $30.00 per hour, DOE

Position Purpose: To operate the crane to support the metal processing equipment, move, unload, load, and store materials in warehouse while following all safety policies and procedures. This position is very important in making sure that the work flows through the shop at a steady and timely pace.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to assure safe effective and efficient work tasks.
• Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, customer’s vehicles, etc.
• Keep machine operators supplied with proper steel & pull/stage for next shift.
• Perform weekly and monthly assigned preventative maintenance tasks
• Will perform clean up duties daily to maintain safe work area.
• Will occasionally be requested to work other positions as backup for vacation/sick coverage.
• Will operate forklift or railcar mover occasionally.
• Compliance with general company attendance standards is acceptable.
• Will be working in warehouse setting with some daily exposure to weather conditions (cold, wet, hot).
• Continuous mental and/or visual attention to work tasks is required to monitor the production process, attend to safety conditions, operate required vehicles, etc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Warehouseman/Crane operator training or prior experience of at least 12 months.
• Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
• Reliable, be ready to work on time daily.
• Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions and record work activities performed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Both Overhead cranes & Bushman attachments, Company computer applications & e-mail, forklift, railcar mover.
• Perform routine office support, understand written and oral instruction, make mathematical calculations.
