Job summary

Farwest Steel Corporation seeks a Maintenance Technician to support safe installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems in a large steel service facility. This onsite role offers day-to-evening shifts and competitive pay.

The position requires a high school diploma, 3–5 years of maintenance experience, and the ability to interpret blueprints. CAD familiarity and crane repair experience are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of production maintenance experience.
  • Willingness to work swing or night shifts.
  • CAD experience a plus and overhead crane exposure is helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility and production machinery.
  • Install, dismantle, clean and move production machinery.
  • Perform hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
  • Maintain and document preventative maintenance records.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to determine repair procedures.
  • Maintain building mechanicals, utilities and HVAC systems.

About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: Mon. - Fri.

  • Swing shift 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Graveyard shift 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Wage: $21.00 to $32.00 per hour, DOE

Responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, relocation and removal of all equipment and facilities mechanical systems based on the highest safety, quality standards and best practices in the steel service industry.

Major Duties

  • Troubleshoot, repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility and production machinery.
  • Install, dismantle, clean, reassemble, and move production machinery.
  • Perform fluid mechanic repairs (hydraulic and pneumatic).
  • Performance and Documentation of Preventative Maintenance on production equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to determine repair procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial electrical principles and controls.
  • Maintain all building mechanicals, utilities and HVAC systems.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Candidates must have 3-5 years of production maintenance experience
  • Overhead crane repair experience is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of machinery, mechanics, plumbing, welding, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • CAD experience a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical drive components including bearings, bushings, seals, gears, and belt/chain drives.
  • Must be able to work safely and rationally with heights (such as with overhead cranes).
  • Current Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Effectively follow repair manuals, blueprints, diagrams, to make appropriate repairs.
  • Must respond and follow oral and written instructions timely and accurately.
  • Must work in a team environment or unaccompanied.
