Job summary

Farwest Steel Corporation in Vancouver, WA, is hiring a Warehouse Crane Operator for a graveyard shift (Mon–Fri 10:30pm–7:00am). You will operate an overhead crane to move and stage materials, support processing equipment, and help maintain flow through the shop.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, crane operation or related experience, and a valid driver’s license. Wages range $19.25–$30.00/hour with DOE and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Crane operator training or 12 months experience.
• English reading/writing for instructions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Team oriented and reliable, on-time daily.
• Able to read/write English and follow written instructions.
• Operate overhead cranes & attachments, forklift, railcar mover.
• Perform routine office support and basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies to ensure safe, efficient work tasks.
• Operate overhead crane to load/unload railcars, trailers, or vehicles.
• Stock materials for next shift and keep operators supplied.
• Perform weekly/monthly preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area daily.
• Occasionally back up other positions during vacations.
• Occasionally operate forklift or railcar mover.
• Adhere to attendance standards and dress code.
• Work in warehouse with weather exposure.
• Monitor production and safety conditions.

About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: GraveyardShift, Mon. to Fri. 10:30pm - 7:00am

Wage: $19.25 to $30.00 per hour, DOE

Position Purpose: To operate the crane to support the metal processing equipment, move, unload, load, and store materials in warehouse while following all safety policies and procedures. This position is very important in making sure that the work flows through the shop at a steady and timely pace.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to assure safe effective and efficient work tasks.
• Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, customer’s vehicles, etc.
• Keep machine operators supplied with proper steel & pull/stage for next shift.
• Perform weekly and monthly assigned preventative maintenance tasks
• Will perform clean up duties daily to maintain safe work area.
• Will occasionally be requested to work other positions as backup for vacation/sick coverage.
• Will operate forklift or railcar mover occasionally.
• Compliance with general company attendance standards is acceptable.
• Will be working in warehouse setting with some daily exposure to weather conditions (cold, wet, hot).
• Continuous mental and/or visual attention to work tasks is required to monitor the production process, attend to safety conditions, operate required vehicles, etc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Warehouseman/Crane operator training or prior experience of at least 12 months.
• Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
• Reliable, be ready to workon time daily.
• Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions and record work activities performed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Both Overhead cranes & Bushman attachments, Company computer applications & e-mail, forklift, railcar mover.
• Perform routine office support, understand written and oral instruction, make mathematical calculations.
