Job summary

Occasions is seeking a Warehouse Beverage Manager in Washington, DC to oversee beverage operations, warehouse inventory, event packing, ordering, menu development, staffing and scheduling for our events. Lead the in‑house beverage team to deliver high‑quality service, ensure accurate orders, proper labeling, and efficient batching of cocktails while maintaining compliance and cost controls.

  • 3+ years’ experience behind the bar in a similar environment; management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in beverage program development and staff training is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a beverage program that adds quality and enhances guest experience.
  • Implement systems to increase beverage program efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Provide training to the service team on beverage offerings to ensure knowledge and guest-focused adjustments.
  • Keep inventory and beverage lists accurate; pack and label events; support batched cocktails.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of beverage areas; ensure supplies are stocked.
  • Support service staff and participate in the service cycle as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with leaders and staff; ensure clear on-site communication.
  • Provide feedback with hospitality in mind; create growth paths for team.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the beverage team.
  • Ensure adherence to laws and health regulations.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Beverage Manager is responsible for the oversight of all functions pertaining to beverage operations, including warehouse inventory, event packing, ordering products, menu development, staffing & people development, bar maintenance, recipe costing, cocktail batching, and scheduling. The Warehouse Beverage Manager will provide leadership and direction to the in‑house beverage team, ensuring a high functioning & high‑quality department that is set up to ensure orders for all events are fulfilled efficiently and accurately.

What you’ll do
  • Develop and maintain a beverage program that adds quality, value, and enhances the guest experience.
  • Ensure proper systems and procedures are in place and consistently enforced to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the beverage program.
  • Provide ample training and education to the Service team to ensure sound knowledge and proficiency of all beverage offerings, with the ability to offer suggestions and adjustments to meet guest needs.
  • Ensure that all inventory, beverage lists and any other information related to the beverage program remain accurate and up to date and are understood by the team, and that all events are packed, organized, and labeled properly as well as fulfilling any pe‑batched cocktail needs.
  • Maintains excellent organization, and cleanliness of the area, ensuring that all beverage supplies and disposables are available.
  • Continuously provide support to all service staff and actively participate in the cycle of service as needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all leaders and staff internally and on‑site, throughout service periods, ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Provides feedback and guidance with excellence and hospitality in mind, ensuring that all team members have a pathway for growth and development.
  • Consistently looks for internal and external opportunities to build our growing team.
  • Ensure knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies and procedures in addition to DOL/Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation.
What we need from you
  • 3+ years’ experience behind the bar in a similar environment; management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job.
  • English fluency required; Spanish encouraged.
