Job summary

Summit Electric Supply is seeking an entry-level Warehouse (Backup Driver) to support material receiving, order picking for will call or delivery, and driver backup. You will learn product knowledge and best practices to prepare for future opportunities within Summit.

The role emphasizes safety, inventory management, and strong customer service while supporting drivers and warehouse teams. This position is ideal for developing a foundation in logistics and distribution at Summit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent driving record.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Time management - strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
• Flexibility - ability to effectively adapt to change.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Pull customer tickets to fulfill orders.
• Prepare orders for shipment to customers.
• Receive and stock products on a daily basis to replenish inventory.
• Understand products and their capabilities and warranties.
• Assist sales associates in fulfilling customer orders when necessary.
• Ensure warehouse and respective outside areas are neat and clean at all times.
• Maintaining safe practices and proactively upholds Summit's commitment to a safe workplace.
• Provide backup for drivers as necessary and safely deliver products to customer locations.
• Maintain a clean vehicle, driver logs and vehicle inspection reports
• Ability to use iPad to review orders and collect signatures
• Load and unload Summit trucks
