Warehouse Attendant I
  • Department: Supply Chain
  • Travel: Limited to no travel required.
  • Safety Sensitive: Yes — powered industrial equipment operation (forklift, pallet jack)
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • EEO Category: Laborers and Helpers
Position Overview

The Warehouse Attendant I keeps product moving accurately and safely through a Community Coffee sales warehouse — receiving, storing, picking, and staging inventory so sales trucks leave on time with the right orders. The role owns the accuracy of its own picks, counts, and receipts, and learns forklift and WMS operation under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager and Lead Warehouse Attendant. It works daily with the warehouse team, route sales, and internal delivery partners. Success shows up as accurate orders, clean and properly rotated stock, and readiness for promotion to Warehouse Attendant II — the first step on the Warehouse Attendant career path.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload product from trucks and other equipment, and transport it between receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
  • Pull customer and sales orders from on-hand inventory against the daily load schedule.
  • Audit picked orders for accuracy and report discrepancies to the Lead Warehouse Attendant or Warehouse Manager.
  • Verify incoming product against receiving documents (UPC, quantity, condition) and report discrepancies.
  • Stack and arrange product on pallets and assist internal teams in loading sales trucks.
  • Rotate stock using Julian dates or FIFO methodology to protect product freshness.
  • Conduct routine inventory cycle counts as assigned.
  • Replenish stock while keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and properly rotated.
  • Operate forklifts and manual/electric pallet jacks once certified, completing pre-shift equipment inspections.
  • Record inventory movement using handheld WMS devices, with training and support.
  • Perform S4/WMS transactions such as creating outbounds, transferring equipment, and receiving inbounds.
  • Execute daily receiving and shipping tasks per published load schedules.

May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary.

Position Requirements
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a passing score on the company aptitude test is accepted in lieu of a diploma.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic safety rules, procedures, and manuals.
  • Willingness to learn forklift and pallet jack operation and obtain certification within the introductory period.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
  • Availability to work varying shifts.
Preferred
  • Up to one year of warehouse, stockroom, or material-handling experience.
  • Prior exposure to handheld scanners or warehouse management systems.
Internal Candidates
  • Internal candidates' experience can be considered for a position within Community Coffee at the discretion of Human Resources and the Hiring Manager of the position.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100–200 pounds with the assistance of a lift or by two persons.
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Warehouse environment: occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and in outside weather conditions; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate and may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
