Job summary

SanMar is seeking a Warehouse Associate II in Ashland, VA to support inventory, loading and movement of product, and accurate location signaling. The role requires basic warehouse experience and strong attention to detail. You’ll work with RF equipment, learn internal systems, and contribute to timely order fulfillment.

Shifts are Monday and Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday 8:00 to 12:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in a warehouse.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write and identify colors, sizes, quantity, label and SKU information.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills; multi-task & prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Ability to learn Internal Operating System(s) and operate RF unit.
• Self-starter with initiative; work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient typing and data entry.
• Ability to work in high-demand, high-volume environment and meet deadlines.
• Mandatory overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Unload/load incoming and outgoing trailers, operating powered lift equipment to move product and materials as needed.
• Store product by designating storage areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements; updating location database.
• Prepare product for shipment by verifying location; directing movement to staging area; resolving problems.
• Verify product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports; adjusting entries.
• Document warehouse actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintaining databases.
• Monitor inventory by completing counts as required.
• Research and resolve any discrepancies with shipments, locations, or product. As needed, quickly and accurately locates missing product to complete and ship customer orders in a timely fashion.
• Support other functions of the Distribution Center as needed, including processing returns, invoicing and tagging shipments, inputting stats and generating reports, and building carts.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy warehouse environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
