Job description

Shift: 7a-3:30 p M-F with weekend and weekday overtime as needed
Job Summary

This position is responsible for executing accurate and timely cycle counts throughout the warehouse and, when required, at production-line locations. The role verifies material, quantities, storage locations, labels, and units of measure; performs required recounts; identifies and communicates inventory discrepancies; and supports inventory accuracy through disciplined execution of standard work. As a Tech II employee, this position must demonstrate strong attention to detail, accurately use approved scanners and warehouse systems, and remain flexible to learn and perform other warehouse activities assigned within the Tech II level or below based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute scheduled, requested, and exception-based cycle counts throughout the warehouse in accordance with approved standard work and assigned priorities.
  • Perform inventory counts at production-line locations when required to support inventory accuracy, production continuity, or discrepancy investigation.
  • Verify the material number, physical quantity, storage location, unit of measure, label information, and material condition before submitting count results.
  • Use approved scanners, count sheets, SAP transactions, or other warehouse systems accurately when trained and authorized.
  • Follow blind-count requirements and established counting sequences without relying on expected system quantities when the process requires an independent physical count.
  • Perform recounts when a variance is identified and confirm the physical quantity before reporting or escalating the discrepancy.
  • Research basic discrepancies by checking surrounding bins, adjacent locations, mixed materials, loose quantities, labels, and recent material movement information available within the role.
  • Immediately communicate significant variances, missing material, mixed parts, incorrect labels, damaged material, or storage-location concerns to warehouse leadership.
  • Document count results, recounts, findings, and required follow-up clearly, accurately, and within the established timeframe.
  • Do not make assumptions, force count results, or complete inventory adjustments unless trained, authorized, and directed to do so through the approved process.
  • Maintain material identification and location integrity while counting, ensuring material is returned to the correct position and remains properly segregated.
  • Coordinate respectfully with warehouse, production, inventory control, and support teams when a count requires access to an active work area or additional information.
  • Support physical inventory preparation and execution, including pre-counts, recounts, location verification, material organization, audits, and discrepancy resolution activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe counting areas and promptly report unsafe conditions or material that cannot be accessed safely.
  • Meet established count completion and accuracy expectations while following safety, quality, 5S, and standard-work requirements.
  • Maintain cross‑training and perform other Tech II-or-below warehouse operations as assigned for staffing coverage, workload, or business needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to learn warehouse activities within the Tech II level, including picking, replenishment, put‑away, staging, material movement, production support, scanning, and related processes when trained and authorized.
  • Escalate immediately when a discrepancy cannot be resolved through approved checks or when the condition creates risk to inventory accuracy, production, quality, safety, or customer delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, cycle counting, material handling, manufacturing, or a related environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to inventory accuracy and process compliance.
  • Ability to count material accurately and verify part numbers, quantities, storage locations, labels, and units of measure.
  • Basic computer and scanner skills.
  • Ability to identify inventory discrepancies, complete required recounts, perform approved basic checks, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to read and interpret warehouse labels, material information, count documents, location identifiers, and system messages accurately.
  • Ability to work independently, manage assigned priorities, and complete counts within the required timeframe.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate respectfully with warehouse, production, and support teams.
  • Ability to learn new warehouse processes quickly and apply approved standard work consistently.
  • Flexibility to learn and perform all warehouse responsibilities within the Tech II level or below based on operational needs.
  • Ability to safely operate required material‑handling equipment (Stand‑up forklift, wave, picker), with current certification or the ability to obtain certification when required.
Overtime Expectations

All warehouse employees are expected to support overtime around physical inventory dates to complete pre‑inventory activities and ensure the warehouse is fully prepared. Overtime may be scheduled during weekdays (after the shift end) and weekends based on operational needs and inventory progress. Employees are expected to plan accordingly and work the overtime communicated by warehouse leadership.
