Job summary

Aerotek in Ottawa, KS is seeking a Warehouse Worker to ensure label quality and accurate freight labeling, manage freight flow with pallet jacks and other equipment, and use a Warehouse Management System to scan and track shipments.

You will inspect, count, separate, and sort freight, maintain logs, and prepare reports while working in a fully onsite environment with varying temperatures and shifts. This contract-to-hire role offers standard benefits and a path to permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting labels and verifying freight information.
• Ability to operate electric pallet jacks and other machinery.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and scanners.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining label quality by inspecting and verifying correct freight label information, comparing labels to freight contents or reports, and placing labels in appropriate areas on freight. You will manage freight flow through manual movement and use of powered equipment, including single and double pallet jacks, lifts, and pacers. Additionally, you will identify, count, separate, combine, and scan freight using a Warehouse Management System terminal, scales, and scanners while maintaining records, logs, and processing exception freight, including strays and damages.

Responsibilities

• Inspect labels and assign freight to appropriate lanes, stores, or batches.
• Process damaged freight according to established policies and procedures.

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic environment that requires exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. The role involves moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, working overnight, weekends, and varying shifts. You will work at heights and indoors for extended periods, navigating narrow, enclosed, or elevated spaces.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ottawa, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
