Job summary

Kelly Services is hiring a Light Assembly Worker to join our warehouse team. You will pick and place parts, read orders, and move items according to shipping documentation. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe workspace and support inventory accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, computer literacy with WMS, and willingness to work overtime. Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer literacy with experience in WMS warehouse management systems.
• Self-motivated and able to work well in a diverse team.
• Flexibility to work overtime or varying shifts.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and work instructions.
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations and lift up to 25 lbs (50 lbs occasionally).
• Vision abilities needed for close/far/depth perception and focus.

Responsibilities

• Pick and place parts according to customer orders.
• Read orders, work orders, and shipping documents to determine items to move or ship.
• Move items from containers, racks, or bins per sequence.
• Fill requisitions and organize materials.
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and accessible.
• Scan materials and assist inventory counts.
• Perform facilities maintenance like sweeping and dusting.
• Follow safety standards and rules.

What’s a typical day as Light Assembly Worker? You’ll be:

• Picking and placing parts according to customer orders in designated work areas
• Reading customer orders, work orders, and shipping documents to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped
• Moving items from containers, racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences (size, type, style, color, or product code)
• Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and organizing them in designated areas
• Ensuring the warehouse is clean, safe, and accessible
• Scanning materials and moving them as per standard work instructions
• Assisting in counting and accurate tracking of inventory and materials
• Performing facilities maintenance duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, and organizing work areas
• Following environmental, health, and safety standards and rules

• Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Are comfortable with basic mathematical calculations
• Can lift up to 25 lbs daily (occasionally up to 50 lbs) and are physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, twist, turn, push, and pull as required
• Possess vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus
